Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he"
Imagination is an important factor in getting to our God ordained destinies. It is indeed a mighty destiny driver. Imagination is a result of the vision that God places in our hearts. God gives us a vision of where we are going and the rest of the way, we imagine. imagination is an essential driving force in propelling us to our destiny. If we can imagine it, we can possess it.
In Genesis 11:31, Terah, the father of Abraham set out of his native country of Ur to go to Canaan. I believe that God told him to take His family to go to Canaan, I believe it was his destiny to go to that country, but for lack of imagination, he was unable to see the land, the purpose for the mission, he stayed in Haran. His destiny was aborted. Without imagination, it is possible to lose focus of our vision.
Now, The Lord asked Abram (Abraham), Terah's son to do the same thing so that the destiny would be fulfilled. The Lord told Abram to go to Canaan and also gave him some other promises (The Blessing). Abraham was able to get to that location because of his imagination. There was even a point that he had to lie (God help us) because he was so certain of the vision and nothing, not even the beauty of his wife, would stop him from obtaining the promise.
Abraham was able to bring forth Isaac based on his imagination of himself as the father of many nations, the bible says in Romans 4:18-22 that his faith was not weakened because he believed (imagined himself) that he was the father of many nations. He did not consider his age or the deadness of Sarah's womb!
We can imagine him and his wife walking down their street and his neighbors looking at him from their front porches and saying "Abraham (father of nations), where are you going today?, are you still going to the church to worship that God of yours?" But because of his faith in God and the imagination that he had created with the vision God gave him, he kept going. And, bam! One day, Sarah became pregnant and had the baby. Amen.
Imagination creates excitement for the vision that we have. It gives us courage to go on and it makes obstacles look small. David was able to kill Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 because he had imagined that the head of Goliath would be fed to the birds of the air. So, the size of Goliath was not an intimidation to him because all he could see was food for the birds.
I want to challenge us to look at a vision that God gave to you and begin to expand that vision by your imagination. I promise you that nothing can stop you.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, my brethren, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.
