Hello there! It has been a while, I know. I cannot believe that I have not made a blog post for a while now. As much as I enjoy writing, I have been preoccupied with so many other things. But I promise you that I am back, I am holding myself accountable to you now, especially since I have heard many testimonies about how these posts have been a blessing to you and some have asked why I have not written. A while ago I received an email from someone who was looking for encouragement and googled a topic that I wrote about, this individual read the post and was encouraged. Thank you all for the feedback, and again, I am back!
Today, I want to share with you about something that I read in Psalm 2. The Message Translation records verses 7-9 this way: “Let me tell you what God said next. He said, “You’re my son or daughter, and today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? You can command them all to dance for you or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.” (italics are mine). The first thing that I would like you to see here is that as far as God is concerned, every time you read this scripture, it is your birthday! God celebrates you every day, He is willing to give you a birthday present every day of your life! That is why the scripture says He daily loads us with benefits! I love the word “loads”, it means, excessive, large amount or in physics, the amount of power supplied by a source! God is flamboyant, loud, and showy when it concerns his children.
Ok, so now, I want to bring your attention back to the main thing that I see in this scripture: The Lord said: What do you want? Name it! And He will give it to you as a present! Note that God is not asking you to pay for it, He asked that you name it, and He will pay for it. God is looking for audacious people, who will take Him at His word.
Here are 4 things to do.
1. Before you can name something, you have to see that thing, you need to envision it. In Isaiah 43:19 (NIV) the Lord said that you must see and perceive the new thing He is doing. Perceive means to notice, comprehend, and regard, for you to have what God is giving to you as a present, you must see it in your mind by faith. Until I saw myself debt free, I was not debt free. Until I saw myself owning a property, I did not own a property. I started by putting what I wanted on my vision board (See Habakkuk 2:2) so that I could see it continually and then it materialized. Write it down, take a pen and a paper write it down. When you write it, it helps you to see (the Lord told Habakkuk to write the vision down so that readers will see and run with it, and may I say that you are your number 1 reader!) and what you can see is what will manifest! It is not your job to figure it out, it is your job to envision it and you can envision it as big as you would like!
2. In the NKJV, the Lord says, “ask of Me, and I will give You…” Asking requires speaking. Whatever you cannot say, you are not qualified to have. (Mark 11:24). Asking means that you pray to God about it, you don’t need to beat about the bush, you are not a slave, you are a child. A child does not care if the parents have or do not have money in their account, he/she makes a Christmas list and expects the parents to deliver by Christmas day! The same way God expects us to ask for what we need and want. After you have asked, you continue to declare it into existence.
3. After you have asked, to show that you believe what you have asked, you must prepare for the manifestation. When we were waiting on the manifestation of the promise of a child, as soon as we prayed and believed we received our baby, we went ahead to decorate our baby’s room, put a crib in, mobile and sheets on the crib, fill the closet up with baby boy’s clothes, shoes, receiving blankets (you need those to receive the baby, lol). Making preparations keep you focused on the goal, if you have asked for a house, start looking at how to decorate the house. When I wanted to buy a home, I was always watching the tv home improvement and real estate show, “love it or list it” in order to flood my mind with decorating ideas. To prepare for a baby, name that baby, print out baby announcements and keep them where you can see them daily.
4. The last thing that I want to encourage you to do is to praise Him ahead of the manifestation. When you praise God ahead of the manifestation, you are expressing your trust in Him to make it come to pass. On the TV show, “The Price Is Right”, when people hear their name called to come and spin the wheel, you will see them jumping up with excitement even before they have spun the wheel, not to talk of winning yet. That is the attitude that the Lord expects from us. Take 10 minutes daily to imagine what you have named and thank God for it and watch the manifestation come to pass!
I would appreciate your feedback if this has blessed you :)
Shalom!
